The Certificate in General Studies class graduation took place in the university of Limerick on Tuesday 18th of January 2011.
The Shannon Consortium Downtown Centre was officially launched in conjunction with the opening of its permanent home at LIT George's Quay in Limerick City on Tuesday 15th February.
My name is Elaine. Working as an electrician for 20 years I undertook some job related practical courses. In May 2008 I found myself unemployed.
Having returned from living and working abroad at the age of thirty, I made the decision to further my education.
Hello my name is Noreen. Before I started the Certificate in General Studies with the Downtown Centre I was at home, looking after my family and the house having lost my job because of the current recession.
Due to funding constraints, the Certificate in General Studies programme will not be offered in September 2012.
Two of our third-level partners will be offering access programmes for mature students (aged 22 or above on 1 January 2012) commencing in September 2012:
This year 36 students have enrolled for the Certificate in General Studies, 23 in the Humanities option and 13 in Science. We wish them a happy and successful year of study.
Graduation for the 2010/11 Certificate in General Studies students took place in LIT on 3rd November 2011.
The CAO web site is live and you can make an application anytime between now and February 1st 2012.
A number of Open Evenings for mature students are on at the moment.

Downtown Centre Graduation 2011
Sincere congratulations to all graduates from the 2010/11 Certificate in General Studies, from both the Downtown Centre and the Ennis Regional Learning Centre, who were conferred with their FETAC Level 5 certificates at a ceremony in LIT on 3rd November 2011. We wish all our graduates the very best in their future studies and careers.
