The Certficate in General Studies

Due to funding constraints, the Certificate in General Studies programme will not be offered in September 2012.

Two of our third-level partners will be offering access programmes for mature students (aged 22 or above on 1 January 2012) commencing in September 2012:

September 2011 - News from the Downtown Centre: This year 36 students have enrolled for the Certificate in General Studies, 23 in the Humanities option and 13 in Science. We wish them a happy and successful year of study.

The CAO web site is live and you can make an application anytime between now and February 1^{st 2012}. However if you get your application in by January 20^{th 2012}there is a reduced application fee. You can use the change of mind facility FREE of charge until January 31st 2012. See www.cao.ie.
A number of Open Evenings for mature students are on at the moment. NUIG will hold a public information session for mature students in the Millennium Arts Building from 7.00-9.00pm on November 24th 2011 covering advice on CAO and application procedure, criteria for entry and finance. Contact maturestundets@nuigalway.iefor more details.
